Shaker Birthday Card using CD Envelope

Aloha Friends!
We're celebrating Dad's birthday tomorrow at their home in Kaneohe, Hawaii in the subdivision of Keapuka.  We'll be grilling lunch on a huge cement grill that dad made.  I mentioned in a previous blog that I'll be giving him a rainfall gauge but in addition I created this shaker card today, adding some money for their Vegas trip coming up.
I got the idea of  using the 5x5 CD envelope as a shaker card as I was browsing in Inspired & Unscripted by Maria Bell.  Please visit her at stampininspiration.blogspot.com.   Maria's creations are really inspirational and so beautifully done!  She has an excellent tutorial on this shaker card that made creating this card so easy and so much fun!
The stars are a rubber stamp by Dandelion Designs that I colored in with a felt pen and I used a Suzy's Zoo Happy Birthday sticker on the inside.  I didn't know how to capture the beads rolling around inside but you can see a glimpse of it as the bottom of the circle.

This is a photo of the back of the finished card that measures 6x6.  I used the same Dandelion Designs stamp and just added a punched out tag as a pocket for the birthday cash.
I had so much fun creating this card, which comes together pretty fast... I already have so many ideas for other shaker cards I want to make.
Thank you to Maria!

Be still and know that I am God.

    1. Aloha! Do you create gift card envelopes, too? What do you make? I've been so busy with my ETSY shop I haven't kept up with this. This makes me want to be more diligent in posting.

      Thank you for visiting!
